ARIA Bio Industries of the United Arab Emirates has an industrial arm known as ARIAsphalt® for the supply of bitumen and bituminous products in Durban, South Africa.
ARIA’s initial investment at the Durban Port facility, valued at some 20m USD, is capable of importing, storing and distributing quality 50/70, 70/100, and 10/20 bitumen grades to customer requirements in bulk, isotainers, and 25kg – 500kg bitumen bags and bitu-boxes.
The facilities are equipped to load different bitumen grades through dedicated pipelines at required temperatures. Customers can either test the bitumen at the ARIA Laboratory on site or at a nominated third-party laboratory, and then seal selected dedicated tanks to ensure the quality of their bitumen.
The ARIAsphalt® Durban storage facility accommodates 8 000 MT (5 500 MT of static storage and 100 bitumen isotainers of 25MT each). The bitumen isotainers can be distributed to customer sites to provide volume support during peak demand periods.
Additional proposals have been submitted to other port authorities in South Africa to set up similar bitumen terminals as a second phase of the ARIA investment. The South African facilities form part of ARIA Bio Industry’s global expansion policy.
