An Update on Performance Grade Binder Implementation
Welcome to our first event 0f 2022. We all know why the Performance Grade Binder specification came into being in 2016. The adoption of a specification framework for bituminous binders based on engineering properties helps the industry to ensure optimal performance of flexible pavements, especially in the higher traffic categories.
The Performance Grade (PG) specification aims to provide clear compliance criteria to help us select the best bituminous binders for specific applications. Important factors include the measurement of rheological concepts to characterise bituminous binders, simulated ageing of binders to assess durability, test procedures and compliance limits, and a whole lot more.
This webinar will be useful for engineers, technicians and technologists who are involved in the introduction of this specification, its application, and its evolution into a national standard.
More than five years have passed since the initial implementation of the Performance Grade specification and this event will update us on how we’ve done, where we are now, what benefits have been achieved, and where to from here.
We have the country’s brightest minds on the topic on hand to update you. This is a great way to start the year and should not be missed.
